Many people—myself included—have multiple Google accounts. For example, I have one account for personal use, one for work, and one for this Web site. Of course, email accounts, bookmarks, browsing history, etc., differ for each of these accounts—and they should! So how do I keep them separate without going crazy with logging in and out every time I want to switch from one to the other? Simple. I use Google's Chrome browser. Chrome allows you to create multiple user accounts/identities, and it allows you to switch very easily between these user identities.
The first time you run Chrome after you install it, the first thing you should see a login page. Assuming you have one, use your Gmail account credentials to log in to Chrome (if you don't have a Gmail account [or Google Apps for Business/Education], you'll need to create one). This will become your default identity (you can make another account the default later if you want to). The cool thing is that Google will keep track of everything you do on this account so that if you ever change computers or have Chrome on multiple computers it will sync everything—even if, for example, you install an add-in in Chrome on one computer, it will sync that add-in with your other Chrome installs. That is awesome. It also keeps everything separate; that is, add-ins, browser history, favorites, and such for one account are kept separate from those of another account. So, if you install, say, Evernote Clipper for one identity, it will not install for the other identities. You would need to install it for each identity. If you want to customize the avatar for each of these accounts, click the Users menu and then select "Customize user..." (again, you can access this via the Settings menu).
To add another account/identity, click the Users menu (alternatively, you can get to this via the settings menu) and select "Add New User." This will open the login page again and you simply log in with the new user Google credentials. Done. Repeat this for each account you have.
To switch from one account to another, click the Users menu and click the identity you'd like to use. Or, click the avatar in the top right corner of the browser and then select the identity you'd like to use.
If you want to remove an account, click the Users menu, click "Customize user..." and then click the "x" to the right of the user identity you wish to remove (hover your mouse over the identity to reveal the "x").
