Have you ever filed a document in the wrong place? Every now and then—in fact, it happened to me just this morning (and it was the prompt for this Quick Tip)—I pop into a folder and find a file that doesn't belong there. After a few minutes of "What was I thinking filing this here?!?" I quickly remember that it's easy to move files in Google Drive. In this post, I'll show you a couple of ways to accomplish this task.
1. Drag and Drop
One way to move a file is to drag and drop it. Rather than trying to describe the steps in writing, it's easier—and better—to show you.
2. "Move to..."
A second way to move files to other folders is to right-click (or two-finger click) on the file and select "Move to..."
Right-click | Move to... (click for larger image)
A dialogue box will open in which you can browse to the folder to which you would like to move the file. Once you have selected the new location, click the "Move" button.
So, as you can see, moving files around in Drive is a pretty easy thing to do. Oh, one more thing... The same actions apply to folders as well. :)
